Cindy Kaufman

I recently made the leap of focusing on art in August, 2023 and have been extremely happy with my growth and the feedback from colleagues and friends Currently I am combining my time as a full-time artist and an interior architect.. I believe these two endeavors are complimentary and I leverage my skillset for both endeavors.

For three decades, I have devoted my professional life to the world of architecture and interior design. Designing with a purpose, every detail was meticulously planned to create a harmonious environment. I have always realized that design is not something that is experienced by people only in a theoretical form; it is an experiential event in someone’s life that affects their moods and emotions. As the years passed, I found myself increasingly drawn to the world of art. I began to experiment with various mediums, but it was acrylics and mixed media that truly captured my heart. I realized that art allowed me to break free from the constraints of design guidelines and building codes and let my creativity take charge. Art allowed me to express myself in a new way.

My art became a reflection of my personality, filled with joy, whimsy, and a love for nature. I found myself drawn to abstract illustrative floral themes, exploring the vibrant colors and intricate details found within nature. I wanted to capture the essence of flowers and fauna, not just their physical appearance but also the emotions they evoked. My work began to blend foreground and background seamlessly, creating emotive imagery and patterns that speak to the soul. The subject appears to be alive, virtually jumping off the canvas, immersing viewer into a magical world.

Looking back on my journey, I am grateful for the years I spent in interior architecture, as they gave me the skills and discipline to excel in the world of art. But it is in my art that I have found a new sense of purpose. I am no longer confined by walls; instead, I am free to explore the boundless possibilities of my imagination. Today, I continue to create art that brings joy into the lives of others. My work is a testament to the power of self-expression and the endless possibilities that come with following your passion. Art has the power to transform not only interior space but also the human spirit, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share that transformation with the world.
