I’ve been photographing flowers and botanical subjects for 25 plus years—in my own garden, the Cornell Botanical Gardens, and iconic gardens visited while traveling. The floral images here are from my book In The Style of. It is based on inspirations from the great floral paintings by Dutch and Flemish artists of the 16th and 17th centuries, but crafted in a more contemporary style.

Hsiao-Pei Yang and Annemiek Haralson will host a gallery talk about their show Journeys on May 11 at 3:00
Carol Spence will conduct two classes on The Seductive Still Life, a contemporary approach to a traditional subject matter. We will use a variety of loose drawing and media exercises to create compositions that reveal the imagination and reality. Bring a couple of favorite cups or other objects for our arrangements.
Working with colored pencils and pastels, we will create interesting lines and shapes, layered color, abstracted forms, mark making patterns, and poetic editing.
The classes will be held on May 17 and June 8 at the Lehigh Valley House Community Room at 801 W Buffalo St in Ithaca. Each class costs $60. To sign up, email Carol.
Katrina Morse will teach two art classes in Room 201 at First Presbyterian Church of Ithaca. Register at Blue Door Studio.
David will show eleven floral images in Spring Awakenings at the Mink Gallery in May with Barbara Mink and Maria Wolfe. There will be openings on Friday, May 2, 5:00–8:00 and Saturday, May 3, noon to 5:00.
Keith Millman and Annemiek Haralson will have work in Birds at Main Street Arts in Clifton Springs. The show runs April 29 to May 29. There will be an opening reception on April 26, 3:00–5:00.
Ethel Vrana, Linda Fazzary, and Annemiek Halarson are exhibiting in the Cayuga Arts Collective member show Heaven and Hell at the Community School of Music and Art, sponsored by the Trumansburg Conservatory of Fine Art. The opening is May 2, 5:00-8:00. The exhibit runs from May 2–27.
Patty will show floral paintings at the Karma Salon in Ithaca during their open hours, Tuesday–Saturday.
Daniel is showing his bubblescapes at Treleaven Winery through this spring.
Admission to the gallery is free and open to the public.
