Looking Forward, Looking Back

In July three artists are featured at the State of the Art Gallery. Catharine O’Neill, one of the gallery’s newest members, is showing paintings in the salon. The main gallery celebrates works by Stan Bowman and Janet Sherman, who were gallery members for many years.

In summer, O’Neill paints green things by the water. In winter, she paints whatever has found its way to the dining table. Bowman worked in photography and many other media, constantly experimenting and pushing boundaries. Byer-Sherman painted in oils on canvas, and made multimedia works on paper, responding spontaneously to music and her surroundings.

The show will run from July 5, 2024 through July 28, 2024. There will be an opening reception Friday, July 5, 5–8pm.
