Best Gallery in Ithaca

Readers of the Ithaca Times have voted us the Best Gallery in Ithaca.

Close to Home—and then some, 9/30–10/31

Close to Home ~ and then some is a two person show of oil paintings by Patty Porter and drawings and photographs by Diane Newton. Porter’s paintings focus on local landscapes, many featuring paths that offer the viewer visual choices, perhaps suggesting metaphors for their personal experiences. Newton’s drawings are landscapes of Ithaca and the Boston area (“and then some”) and her photographs are part of her series What Rain and Darkness Can Reveal.

The show will open on September 30 and run until October 31. A reception will be held on Friday, October 1, from 5 until 8pm.

In the Salon

Art works by members are showing in the Salon at the gallery from September 30 and run until October 31.

I was a potter for many years before I discovered what else clay can do. Now I have a clay that works well for this purpose and a way of starting with a very simple form to create a cast of characters that love nothing better than to entertain people and make them smile.
